Quick Example #2: Everything is going up, except real wages. Years ago, we all know things were much cheaper, right? Gasoline used to cost about 32 cents a gallon in the early 70's. Ranch-style homes in the 50's cost less then $20,000. By the same token, the average incomes in the 50's were in the $100 per week range. If it cost on the average $250,000 to purchase a ranch-style house today, and gasoline is running up to and over $4 per gallon (US), and the average weekly income is just around $750, how is a family supposed to pay off a house and save money for their future? SECRET: They do not plan for you to pay it off! Have you heard of the new 50 year mortgage? It is supposed to make your house payment affordable!
The average 30-year mortgage loan takes 3 times the purchase price to be paid off! That's where all the income goes doing a person's lifetime. It cost more and more to buy less and less of the things we all need, so we give more and more of our hard earned money to pay cash for what we can, and go in debt to pay for the rest. By the time we are too old to work, most people are either JUST OVER BROKE, or DEAD! There is a better way!

You must start out mentally with a minimum of a 24 month plan to success. It may take less or more, but focus on 24 months of working steady to accomplish your income building goal. That means, you should not expect to earn much money in the beginning. Just like a medical student, you will be required to work hard for virtually Z-E-R-0 money in the first few months! So, do not get discouraged. We are telling you that up front.
You can also expect to pay out money for a few months and only earn about one-third of it back of what you pay out. That's a fact! That one-third return income is GUARANTEED in the SFI compensation plan! Its called the Executive Bonus. Many people get the idea that BIG money will come for just signing up as an Executive Affiliate. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Especially, if you do not advertise and promote your business every day in the first few months!
Building a network marketing income, no matter with which company, is like riding a bicycle up a steep hill. You must peddle hard at first, and the closer you get to the top, the more difficult it will become to stay focused and motivated. This is what we call the "drop out period".
It is the time right after the excitement of joining something promising and new, and promoting it with dedication and determination. Just like riding a bike downhill. Advertising is also like watching the ocean roll in and roll out. Most of what's happening you can see, because it is all below the surface. Although you may be placing lots of ads, and seems like no one is joining your downline or those who do join are not upgrading to Executive Affiliate.
However, over time, those ads will be seen by more and more people, and the massive numbers of eyeballs on your ads will start to produce fruit. But, if you don't have that many ads out in cyber space, how will anyone even know you are in business? They are out there looking just like you are. They are like the fish in the ocean, but they will go to join the people who are advertising to find them.
CASE IN POINT #3: In the middle 90's, a multi-million dollar income earner in network marketing, Paul Orberson was a school teacher. He started out in network marketing during one summer, as a change from painting houses while school was out. He became so successful in short period of time, he was able to retire at the age of 40.
We personally saw him receive checks from our former company in the 7-figure monthly range. He once said to an audience in Dallas, Texas where we were in attendence with over 75,000 other people that were in his downline:
"When you start a network marketing career, you will get paid very little money for doing a lot of constant advertising and training work. Everyone you know will think you are crazy for spending all your spare time promoting and advertising this "get rich quick" scheme. Most of the people you signup will quit within their first 3 months."
He went on to say:
"However, after doing all this hard work, somewhere between 6 to 12 months, you will have found 10, 24, or 55 people who will want to work as hard, or even harder then you are working to build their own income. That's when your work will start to pay off, and you will start to see a solid monthly income growing from your hard work.
Around 15 to 24 months, and 10's of thousands of affiliates later, your income building results will be such that you will be doing a very little bit of work and receiving a whole lot of money! That's why I receive the big checks you see today."
Finally, in closing he said,
"You are all in attendance today, because several years ago, I was where many of you are today. I spent all my extra time advertising and coaching and there was hardly any money coming in from my hard work. Everyone of you within the sound of my voice, must continue working through this mentally tough period to succeed. There is virtually no way around it.
You all have the same opportunity to be standing here before an audience this size that you got started, by finding and coaching one person at a time, and seemingly getting paid nothing for your efforts."
This is the best analogy there is to explain perfectly what building an income with a Network Marketing company is all about. Simply put, in the beginning you will work hard for little to no money. Then, at some point, you will start to earn a whole lot of money for doing a little, to no work at all!
Another one is like the doctor above. Imagine how hard it is to earn a medical license. Most students live very poorly while doing this hard studying work. But, once doctors get to the top of the hill of study and learning, their income will be there in an abundance.
The flip side for doctors though, is they start out with BIG student loans, and must go into further debt to build or buy a medical practice. Plus, they have to actually "work" for every dollar they receive. Professional Network Marketers have absolutely Z-E-R-O debt, while earning a similar, if not even greater net income. Plus, professional Network Marketers do not get paid for what they are doing currently day to day. They get paid for what they started in the first 2 to 3 years they are in business! CASE CLOSED!
